Creating a New Counterparty

Updated today

Overview

This tutorial guides you through adding a new counterparty when creating a payout in the Swft dashboard. A counterparty is the person or business receiving the payment. You’ll learn how to add their details, choose the correct payment method, and save them for future use.

Steps:

1. Log in to your Swft Dashboard

  • From the Management tab → click on Counter Party

2. Creating a New Counterparty

2.1 Click Create Counterparty.

2.2 Fill in the required fields:

  • Basic information (name, category, contact details)

  • Bank accounts (add one or more)

  • Additional notes

  • Attachments (optional documents)

  • Click Submit.

3. Send for Approval

After you submit, the counterparty automatically appears in the Inactive section with the status Created.

This means:

  • It is considered a draft.

  • It is not ready for approval yet.

  • It is not available for payouts.

Actions Required

  • Submit for Approval

Once all required fields are complete, you move to the next step.

Submitting for Approval

When you click Submit for Approval, the counterparty moves from:

Inactive (Created)Needs Approval

In the Needs Approval section:

  • The counterparty is waiting for the checker’s review.

  • You (the maker) can still withdraw the submission if you want to make changes.

Checker Review

The checker reviews the counterparty information and chooses one of two actions:

1. If Approved

  • The counterparty moves to the Active section.

  • It can now be used for payouts and visible in all active lists.

2. If Rejected

  • The counterparty moves back to the Inactive section with the status Rejected.

  • It cannot be used until edited and resubmitted.
